✦ cyberpunk
For this post, I attached Northcoast Media Group to a futuristic aesthetic to draw attention to the tech-savvy aspects of the brand. I spent a lot of time researching cyberpunk UI design trends and gathering an asset library before I started production.
The maximalist style allowed me to include several fun easter eggs including a qr code to the company's website.

✦ RETRO ARCADE
This post was made as a small homage to the beloved arcade machine in NorthCoast's breakroom. I wanted this animation to feel authentic, so I drew the main scene on a small 225x225 pixel canvas before upscaling it for the final animation.
During compositing, I applied several effects including a warp distortion, dust, and scratches to make the screen look realistic. As a bonus, all the pixelized buildings are based on real places in near NorthCoast Media Group!

✦ HOLIDAYS
These short projects are often a great way to give myself little challenges! In this case, I wanted to see how much dimension and depth I could give to a visually "flat" style.
All assets were built in illustrator with vector shapes then composited in After Effects with raster images for final textures and lighting. Photo reference was crucial for developing a believable look.

✦ NEW YEARS
For New Years, the NorthCoast team wanted a fun, energetic post with office mascot Shea front and center. I landed on a collage style so I could depict her as realistically as possible while retaining the flexibility of an animated character.
This project was exciting because I got to experiment with traditional print textures and blend different animation techniques together! For instance, the character was animated with position and rotation controls, while the party whistle was animated with the puppet tool, and the champagne splash was cel animated.
